Employees of the UNESCO Chair participated in the project "Preparation of a comprehensive international report on the violated rights of Azerbaijani IDPs" implemented at Baku State University (BSU). The project was successfully completed and the report was published in Azerbaijani and English languages.

 

Report consists of sections such as introduction, general approach and methodology, general information on Azerbaijani territories occupied by Armenia for a long time, analysis of international documents adopted in connection with the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, violation of fundamental rights and freedoms of IDPs, violation of basic principles of international law by Armenia and international crimes, approximate scope of damage caused by the occupation, existing international mechanisms, experience of other states, international judicial mechanisms, international legal responsibility of Armenia, emergent support necessary for the occupied and liberated territories of Azerbaijan until the end of 2020, etc. In the final part of the report, along with the restoration of the violated rights of Azerbaijani IDPs, a number of proposals were made to international law and international organizations. For the first time, the report provides list of historical, religious and cultural monuments of Azerbaijan in English.

The report is an important practical source for international intergovernmental and non-intergovernmental organizations, relevant foreign governmental agencies and non-governmental organizations, as well as human rights research institutions and researchers, and relevant governmental agencies and educational institutions in Azerbaijan.

It should be noted that the report, published in Azerbaijani and English, was sent to all international intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, international human rights mechanisms, as well as governmental and non-governmental organizations of different countries.
